The Happy Hour @ HQB is organized by the government of Huaqiangbei street Sub-district and SegMaker+, the national grade makerspace. Hong Kong Innovation Services is co-organizator.
Masakazu TAKASU, born in Japan in 1974, may be the most frequent participant of different Maker Faire in the world. The record is around 50 times.
He moved to Singapore in 2014 and participated the Small and Beautiful Maker Faire Singapore and joined the Maker Faire Shenzhen, the largest in Asia, in 2015. Cooperated with Prof. Asei ITO of Tokyo University, he established a “Japanese Maker Zone” in SegMaker+, the landmark of Huaqiangbei and had around 1000 Japanese visitors who are makers, scholars, and members from business sectors, associations and media. “Shenzhen”and “Huaqiangbei” became the hot topics in Japan recently.
He had spoken at over 100 events across 15 countries on ,Maker Movement in Asia, Maker Faire Shenzhen/Singapore/Taipei/Tokyo, Geek culture, Technology and Art, the Creative Industry and a few other topics of personal interest.
